Dear Irondale Music Family,
We want to inform you of an exciting new addition to the music program at Irondale High School. This fall we are raising the funds to buy a new grand piano for the auditorium stage.
The grand piano in the auditorium was purchased in 1970 or 1971. It is now difficult to keep it in tune for our winter concerts and the strings are breaking. The piano has been restored twice and now needs more work than is cost effective. After months of searching and consulting we have picked out a beautiful new piano. We have raised 75% of the funds required, but we need your help to complete the campaign and make this new piano a reality.
We are launching a "Buy a Key" program where Irondale families or community members can "buy a key" in honor of an individual or group such as a current music student, a sports team, an activity or church group, a teacher, or in memory of an important person. All dedications will be acknowledged on a plaque mounted on the wall in the Irondale auditorium. We also plan to reach out to community businesses and organizations for support.
This is a unique opportunity for the Irondale Community to be involved in the purchase of a new piano that will improve performances at Irondale for decades. You can make a legacy statement with your support.
